“I’m Like Whoa!”: Local Girl Describes Her Meeting with Eclipse Stars

By now we’re all huge fans of Eclipse, the latest movie in the vampire series called Twilight, or New Moon, or whatever the hell it is, by Stephenie Meyer.

The films are beloved by people of all ages and sexes, but perhaps more so by teenagers. Girls in particular seem enamored of them, due in no small part to the two male stars, the mantastic Robert Pattinson and the boytiful Taylor Lautner.

Chrislip native Angela Gladden, age 15, had an encounter with these icons that most kids only dream about. The Coca-Cola company recently held a nationwide contest to choose a slogan for their brand new beverage line, Vampire Coke, which is like regular Coke, but with traces of cow’s blood mixed in. Young Angela won with her slogan: “I’m lovin’ Vampire Coke!”

Angela Gladden: Hello Hollywood, goodbye dignity

First prize was a meeting with the Eclipse stars during their current press junket. It’s a day she’ll never forget.

“So like they come out and I’m like whoa! They’re all like hi, and I’m like OMG! I go, ‘What’s it like being big stars?’ and they go, ‘It’s pretty cool.’ And I was like freaking out because that’s exactly what I imagined it’d be like! So it’s like I’m like a psychic or something!”

There have been whispers of controversy over Angela’s winning slogan. Some say that “I’m lovin’ Vampire Coke!” is a bit too sophisticated for a teenager with no background in advertising. After all, McDonald’s paid millions of dollars to top flight professional advertisers to come up with their slogan, “I’m lovin’ it.” But Angela insists the slogan is hers and hers alone.

“I’m like really good with words and stuff,” she says.

We kind of look like that now, but we can’t even blame meth. 😦

  2. Really, Angela is the next Joan Didion. If like Joan Didion was really good with words and stuff?
